Write down the version number,
including the full sequence of numbers and not just 6.0 (in this
example you would write down 6.0.12.0).
MAKE SURE THAT YOU CLOSE INTELLICAD
AT THIS POINT!
From your dealer, obtain the relevant
patch program. In the example above, we require a patch for IntelliCAD 6
and need the appropriate file. We suggest copying the file to a
folder (perhaps called IntelliCAD patches) and storing it in a sub-folder named
after the month in which you downloaded the file. The reason for this is
that over time, you may receive more patches). Run a virus check on
the program after you have copied it to your computer.
Make sure that you have your original
copy of IntelliCAD on CD-ROM and its activation code handy. Do not
proceed unless you have this. The serial number and activation code
are written on the card which you would have received at the time of
purchase.
Click the Start button, select All
Programs and navigate to the IntelliCAD folder and select Uninstall
IntelliCAD 6 (in this example).
Start Windows Explorer or the My
Computer tool and double
click on the patch file (the .EXE file). This may have been made
available via a download site or posted to you on CD from your dealer.
You will almost certainly be
faced with a security warning at this point. Provided you have run a
virus check on the program, you can click the run option.
The Setup program dialog box will
pop up. Check that the upgrade number is greater that the current
number for your copy of IntelliCAD. In this example, the original
number was 6.0.12.0 and the new number 6.1.19, so we are on
track to move to a later version of IntelliCAD 6. Thus you can click
Yes with confidence.
The install program proper then
begins to run. Click Next.
Accept the license agreement and
move to the next screen. The next step is very important. You need
to make sure that the patch is applied to the same folder that you
originally installed IntelliCAD.

|
Click on
the folder in which IntelliCAD is to be found. |
The patch is installed.
Start IntelliCAD and again click Help>About
IntelliCAD to confirm that the patch has been correctly applied.
If the SIACAD menus do not load, run the script
file. Type SCRIPT at the command line and navigate to a folder
called SIACAD (usually on your C: drive).
If you get an error message "Cannot find alias file" when the newly
installed patch has been applied, please carry out the following
steps. Try these steps to
clear the message:
1. Under the Tools menu,
select Customize...
2. Click on Aliases tab,
click Reset
3. Close and restart IntelliCAD. It should not prompt anymore for
the alias file.
